The goal is to provide an Interactive Map that is Community-Developed. What does that mean?
Interactive Map: A map that is real-time which allows users to add information such as your RV and where you’re located at any given time as well as Points of Interest like Restaurants, Hikes, RV Parks, Campgrounds, Boondocking Spots, etc…
Community Developed: While we provide the basic map, you (the community) add information that you think would benefit the community.
How do you add something to the Map? Watch this short video…
Once you are registered and logged in, you should see a pinkish colored Plus Sign on the right side of the map. By clicking on the plus sign, it opens a dialogue box that you fill out to add the information you want. Along with filling in the fields, click on the map to add the marker to the location you want. Initially, it will add a default marker to the map that you can move around to a precise location. Once you select the Point of Interest such as an RV Park or Restaurant, it will assign a specific marker. You can edit any marker that you have created.
My Airstream marker. One Marker is designated as a My Airstream marker. You can use this to add info on you and your Airstream. Just put in whatever description you want, images, and your phone if you want people to be able to contact you. You can move the marker around as you travel, and you can remove it if you wish.
Helpful Tips
If you don’t see the Plus sign on the upper right side of the map, first make sure you’re logged in, and then also refresh your browser page.
I find it easier to use the map if you expand it to full screen. To get to fullscreen mode, use the fullscreen expansion button located on the upper left side of the map.
Become familiar with using the ‘search for address’ field at the top of the map as well as the my-location button on the left side of the map. This helps to zoom in.
Be sure to use the filter box located on the lower left side of the map to filter on different types of Points of Interest.
